List | Favourite Youtube Videos
28 December 2015 • list
I have been seriously wasting my time on Youtube lately. My last post was even about a Youtube sensation, so yes, I definitely can say I'm addicted at the moment.
As I said in that post, I've been enjoying Vlogmas a lot. It's basically like you're blogging your day but you do it on video. I seem to have just discovered something amazing but really, it has been going on for A-GES. I'm late again to the party.
So I thought I would share some of my favourite videos with you today. I'm not so much into hauls or beauty videos except if I follow a blogger and watch her/his Youtube channel. I try to avoid everything that's trying to sell me something but really IT'S HARD to do.
I won't talk about Tanya Burr today because I'm addicted to her Vlogmas right now and I already told you about her in my last post. I've just mentioned my last post THREE times in four paragraphs, I'm crazy (about her).

Well, let's go! (In no particular order...)
1. Vaness la Bomba // Glory Haul
Vanessa is the best!!! She makes me laugh a lot! Sorry this is in French but she's too funny! She is a Parisian fashion blogger and she also sings...
Vaness is incarnated by Sophie-Marie Larrouy who does stand up comedy and she's fabulous. I'm sure you got the fact that she's having a bit of joke at fashion and beauty bloggers who does *insert brand name here* hauls...

2. Allana Davidson // All Occasion Makeup Look Using Urban Decay Naked Palette
I got a Naked palette last Christmas and after toying with it for a while I had a look through Youtube and found this cute tutorial that I go back to and look at again and again because I'm useless at remembering what shade to put on first...
I do not know this girl or if she has a blog or anything. I just watched a few and I liked this one. I tend to do the same thing over and over, it helps me keep my sanity.

3. Kid President // A Pep Talk from Kid President to You
I haven't seen all the Kid President videos yet but this one is so funny and cute and beautiful... It's quite inspirational and Kid President and his brother made this pure gold video so you could watch it every morning if you need some encouragement to keep you up and running!
I loved that Kid President met the real Obama, that video was so sweet!

I love Space Jam too!!!
4. Young House Love // Hush
Years and years ago, there was this super power couple on the DIY blogosphere who called themselves Young House Love. They posted DAILY (that's why I was addicted) about their diy adventures, paint spraying shit everywhere, their cute daughter (they built such a cute play kitchen for her one Christmas, it was good, really good)...
Every April's 1st they had this tradition of doing little April fools' posts that were soon transformed into videos. Sherry is a fan of Eminem and even met her idol on MTV when she was a teen. You know those shows where you could meet your idols? Yup!
I still laugh and laugh about this one. I thought this was genius back in the day I was a YHL fanatic!

5. J.K. Rowling // Harvard Commencement Speech 2008
I am reading the Harry Potter series for the second time in my life this December and my eyes just seem to look for J.K. Rowling everywhere at the moment. I wept and wept at this video of which I'm just showing a highlight.
6. Be Bricks // Lego City Update #1
I quite like those videos from an anonymous from Brussels who tells us all about how he is building his Lego city. If you loved playing with Legos as a kid, if you thought the movie was cute and all that, watch this! There are even French subtitles available.
Tell me if you enjoyed my selection and if you have any recommendation to make, I would be please to hear them!
See you soon lovelies!

I love Peter Pan, it's my favourite Disney movie along with The Hundred and One Dalmatians
sooooo, when I saw this gif, I HAD TO post it!
As you're reading this, I'm slaving myself at work (huh huh... slightly exaggerating over here...) and I'll soon be leaving by train to be with my family later this afternoon. We will eat good (awesome!) food all dressed up like it's the night of the year (IT IS!). Then at midnight, we'll exchange our gifts and then, eat the bûche!!! Yum yum..
I'll be doing my hair a bit like Wendy. Sort of. My curler is gonna be on fire tonight oop oop!

British Crush | Tanya Burr's house
17 December 2015 • crush
I LOVE the UK, the Queen, the scones, the telly, the tea, the shops, the humour, the different accents, well... you guessed it pretty much everything about the British culture. Hence the title of this series 'British Crush' where I will talk about something that I love about the country and its lifestyle.
Pssst! See the complete house tour here>>

Last month I visited the UK and bought some magazines. I am aware that Youtubers and bloggers are a thing over there and many of them already have published at least a book. I saw them sitting on the "blogging" shelves of bookstores...
But back to what I was saying. The November issue cover of Glamour UK featured Tanya Burr, a famous British beauty Youtuber who has millions of subscribers to her channel. Tanya started vlogging about make up tutorials in 2009 and recently, along with her husband Jim Chapman (also a Youtuber), they moved into their new Fulham home that I freakin' LOVE.
You already know that I am a huge home stalker so when I started looking at Tanya's videos I literally became obsessed with her home, especially her kitchen! Below are some snapshots of her baking video "Baking a Magical Christmas Cake".
I absolutely love the greeny-gray color of the units and the wooden worktops! I want that chimney-like hearth. It all reminds me of the GBBO so that might be the reason why I'm obsessed...
I have been watching her Vlogmas vlogs everyday since the beginning of December (I'm addicted to vlogs at the moment...) and all the snippets of her home make me happy. I take mental notes of everything I like and would want for my dream home. Really, I take everything I can get from the stalking I'm doing on Youtube, guys!
The other room that I like is the formal living room. I love it because of the huge fitted bookcases that are featured. I dream of doing something like this to show off all of our favourites books. The picture above is from the estate agent listing that I found via this article.
Sorry for the blurry and unflattering shot, Tanya, but this was meant to show my readers the bookcases better...
In a recent vlog, Tanya shared that she's building a home library (I'm doing that too!!) and I admit that I was a bit jealous of the package she received that day: she had several Roald Dhal's books, Go set a Watchman, Christmas on Primrose Hill and a few boardgames. I also spotted on her shelves all the Harry Potter series, Little Women, the books that Rifle Paper Co. designed, The Secret Garden, Secrets of London, and many more good novels. I noticed I own quite a few of the same books as her too.

Oh and this is Martha Moo, Jim and Tanya's dog. So so so freakin cute. I must say that dogs are the typical blogger/instagrammer/vlogger's best friend as it can draw so many viewers/readers to their content. Dogs and cats are just so CUTE. Everyone loves them, it's basic knowledge at this point...
Anyway guys, I have a real crush. As I said, I've been watching her vlogmas (vlogging every day 'till Christmas) everyday since the beginning of December and as well as building an awesome library just like her, I totally want to have a dachshund now (my dream dog would be the basset hound but I have to admit dachshunds are a bit smaller and easier to take care for in little houses) and I am having a massive house crush/obsession at the moment.
Psst! Tanya posted a glimpse of her bedroom on her blog and I'm dying of envy... I'm off to buy her book, a dog and a house! Bye!

I'm writing this sitting in front of a fake fire (more on that in a moment) while licking a
I know I'm awesomely lame.
It has been two weeks since we brought the tree home and decorated it. I shot a little video days ago that was meant to show you our place all ready for and I waited a while before I finally started to write this!
I had planned on doing a little project that would involve red and green felt but I won't have time to do it before taking everything down. I also wanted to sew some pillow covers but I still haven't started that either...
I didn't buy much this year except for some paper garlands from Hema. We just got our red and gold decorations out and placed them randomly everywhere.

Home | A Cushion Cover Love Story
23 November 2015 • home
As we're approaching December, it's time to change the cushion covers!
Ta-da!
Okay, my photographing skills are still very bad because I have just noticed we can't tell the difference between the dark grey cushions in the first pic and in the second one... I changed them up from the light fabric to a knitted one. I sewed those covers out of an old knitted scarf I didn't want to wear anymore.
The little square cushion covers are made out of my favourite Ikea fabric. It's called Margareta and it's feels so warm and inviting when you look at it.
Making envelop cushion covers is the first thing that I learned to do with a sewing machine. It's the easiest thing to do really!
A midweek break in Royal Tunbridge Wells + a British family meal
20 November 2015 • books, home, travel
The Pantiles
I went on a little trip recently to Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The bf and I needed a little "us" time and as I was away (in Iceland!!) on our anniversary we postposed our getaway to November.
This time we traveled by car to get to England. This was the second time we drove through the Tunnel (the first was when I went to Canterbury last May...) and I enjoyed it very much: quick and easy.
Red on Green ♥
Tunbridge Wells is about a hour-long drive from Folkestone so we enjoyed some very pretty country scenery after leaving the M20. We drove past the cutest little towns: Biddenden, Goudhurst and Sissinghurst that we absolutely need to go back to.
We had coffee at Costa as soon as we got there (it was breakfast time) and then we walked around the shops for the day. I didn't check if there was anything to visit in particular but I was aware that the Pantiles were a nice little street dating back from the 18th century. I took us some time to get there as we literally were parked at the other side of the city.
We didn't take many photographs as we didn't feel like it. Our mantra for the trip was "lazy". There were many charity shops around the town so I had a blast going through all the second hand books and I found some good ones! We also bought a few Christmas gifts and some magazines! For lunch and dinner we had some nice meals consisting of steak and random grilled meats. It was pretty yum.
At about 5 o'clock, we got quite hungry after doing so much window shopping and strolling around so we had a little afternoon tea at Juliets. Who could resist to cake really?? and I'm a sucker for cute little coffee shops so we had to eat and drink. I must say I loved my orange hot chocolate, I loooove novelty drinks.
We stayed at the Premier Inn in Tonbridge (a little further away) and it was pretty good. I had booked a room with them when we went to Ireland last year and I was so happy about the quality and price that I decided that when we would travel again on a budget we would sleep there. We weren't disappointed as the spacious room was everything we needed: calm, clean, with a tv and a good bed and pillows.
The next morning, we did some other kind of shopping: groceries! haha! I love that too. We hosted a little family gathering the next Sunday for my mum's birthday and I wanted to have kind of a British meal!
We bought some smoked cheddar (heaven on earth!), Winter Pimms (regular Pimms is my favourite alcoholic drink), elderflower lemonade, various sorts of tea, bacon and onion jam, stilton, sausages (yum)...
A picture of my fridge!!
For Sunday lunch, we had some British crisps and wild mushrooms on toast as an entrée. I ate some on our trip and I thought that was an awesome idea!
This was followed by some tasty sausages and steamed veggies.
Then the franco-anglais cheese board...
And finally a showstopper (but so easy to make) cake from my Great British Bake Off cookbook.
Overall we had fun at both Tunbridge Wells and at our Sunday lunch. Everything was so good and tasty and we had the best family time! I loved it very much.
PS: if you love my plates, I found them at M&S!

British Crush | John Lewis Christmas Ad
14 November 2015 • crush, merry

Hence the title of this series 'British Crush' where I will talk about something that I love about the country and its lifestyle.
It's that time of the year again! The John Lewis ad has come out and that's what I wanted to write about in this series but I thought better of it... Those are only ads...
So instead I'm writing this very quick post. I love Christmas. I love (pretty much) anything British. I'm always excited to buy decorations. (What is pictured is actually my little nativity dolls from John Lewis that I bought last year!) I'm a fan of the store. So when you combine all of this together, it's pretty obvious I should enjoy those ads.
My favourite ones are: the 2010 ad because of the Ellie Goulding's Your song and the 2014 Monty the Penguin was cute. I'm not very fond of this year's commercial but I'll leave you to it anyway...

We hosted a little Halloween fancy dress get-together last Saturday. We asked our guests to play the game and dress up for the occasion and the results were stunning! Look for yourself!
The good old vomiting pumpkin, rice eyeballs and chocolate mousse tombstones.
Isn't my sister cute??
Travel | Three days in Iceland
28 October 2015 • travel
Psst! Don't forget to check my video at the end of the post!
My friend -who is a travel agent !!- and I spent the last weekend in Iceland! We put on our tourist costume and did all the must-do/see things possible in the shortest time...
Apparently, the MUST-DO/SEE things in Reykjavik and around (according to a commercial documentary seen in the plane) are:
- relax at the Blue Lagoon after landing or before departing,
- climb to the top of the church to have a good look at the city,
- visit the Whale Museum,
- go on the Golden Circle tour.
We did it all.
We flew in with Icelandair. I was amazed. Either it's been a while since I flew somewhere (last year actually...) either I should stop flying with Ryanair... because it was awesome.
Fresh complimentary Islandic water and movies à la carte, I had a good time. The aircraft felt pretty new and it was roomy and comfy.
As soon as we arrived, we headed to the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa. On the way, we admired the landscape: lava fields à perte de vue. It was surreal. The sky was gray but it wasn't as cold as we thought.
When we got into our swimsuits and opened the door to get in the water we actually felt the real temperature and at approximately 1°C we got in the lagoon pretty fast...
The warm lagoon got us very relaxed and we even had a drink to celebrate! The water was at 39°C and there was vapor all around making it very special. Unfortunately all the kids from the UK were on holiday and we heard/saw them A LOT. But it didn't annoy us too much because the lagoon is large and we quickly found a more tranquil spot to splash about.
I would definitely recommend going to the Lagoon after landing as it was very relaxing after "the stress" of the flight. We were visiting in the afternoon and we were happy to get there before dark because the blue color does look stunning in contrast with the black lava bed.
In the evening, we checked in our hotel situated right in the center of the city and we enjoyed a pleasant meal at the Bistro.
The next day started with the visit of the largest Lutheran church of Iceland, Hallgrimskirkja. At the top, we enjoyed the sight.
