The House | Moving in, sweeping, dusting, cleaning & a new puppy

31 March 2016

This is the house from the outside! Actually it is how the house looked at the end of the 17th century when it was built. Today, the façade is very similar except from the far right window (just above the front door) that has been walled up.

So in terms of what's happening in the house right now, we removed the tiles that were on the walls of the kitchen.

We are still waiting for the electrician to install some outlets before fitting the kitchen, painting the walls and install a new floor (not in that order obviously...)

We moved in a few days ago and since then we have been cleaning a lot of mess. Our bed was too big to fit into the room (Room 2), there are boxes everywhere and due to the lack of a proper functionning kitchen, we are pretty much living on a campsite. We spent a lot of time cleaning and unboxing some our stuff that could be cleared away.

On the left: dirty - On the right: fresh and clean

This is Room 3 (the attic). It has been plastered at the beginning of March and it was very dirty. We spent yesterday giving it a good clean. While the room isn't spotless yet, it does look much better. We also plan on painting the walls white.

Here is Room 1, on the first floor. A big bright blue room. We decided to keep the carpet, give it a good shampoo and paint the walls white. We vacuumed the carpet, cleaned everything that could be cleaned and started painting a first coat of fresh white. We thought that room could be our laundry room since the bathroom (with our washing machine) is on the same floor.

At last, here's my new baby! My parents adopted a puppy two weeks ago and surprised us for Easter!  Prune is going to be a new Babe as she will be learning how to herd sheep in the near future.

She's the cutest dog in the world! But she does pee and poo way too much....
